Who I am.

I am a junior Theatre major with an emphasis in acting and a Screenwriting minor. I have worked as the Social media/Marketing Director for the Theatre Student Association and Queer Students in Cinematic Arts at USC. I have also been a teaching artist with Fringe Benefits Theatre. From 2012 to 2019 I was been a member of the Taratibu Youth Association, a youth performing arts company that focuses on African and African American culture and history, that has taught her to use traditional and contemporary songs, dance, written word, and social activism to engage the community and enact positive social change through her craft. My goal is to create an organization for marginalized youth that blends her passion for the arts and social change.

How and why did I start creating your art?

I started creating art because I wanted to inspire and cultivate change in the people around me. I have always been a storyteller but oftentimes I have kept my ideas and dreams to myself growing up. But after getting into theatre and live performance I learned the importance of speaking out and teaching people through varying mediums of art. This is why and how I started creating art.

What advice would you give to other Black women artists?

The stories, experiences, and realities that Black women face everyday matter. So don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in and speak your truth. Because if you don't, the people around you are going to take your narrative and rewrite your voice for you.
