My name is Maxine Stenhouse. I’m 22 years old, and I am currently pursuing a master’s in biotechnology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. I joined this project because I am a true believer in the strength and beauty of Black women, and I hope that one day the world appreciates us the same way I always have. I hope that the Just Us Initiative will provide us a space to grow and express ourselves freely while giving us the confidence to do so out in the world without fear of judgment. We are amazing, and no amount of words I have will be able to express how much I believe in us and the dreams I have for us. To put it simply, I am a Black girl that believes in Black girls, and I cannot wait for the world to see all we have to offer.
