My name is Sasha-Mylan Williams, and I'm a strong, powerful, creative, Black Woman! I'm from the Bay Area, specifically the suburbs of the East Bay. And am currently attending the University of Southern California (USC) as a 20-year-old Junior, pursuing an undergraduate degree at the School of Cinematic Arts for Interactive Media and Game Design, with a minor in Film and Entertainment. My personal goals are mainly to tell the stories about, represent, and uplift Black Women. I hope to tell these stories in many ways; interactive media, film/tv, video games, animation, books, music, themed experiences, and more. Another way is through this initiative. I Joined this Just-Us Initiative because I believe that there needs to be a community and space for young Black girls and women to connect and access resources created specifically for them. I hope that the Just-Us Initiative represents a place to uplift Black women and girls by telling our stories and experiences. It is hard to express in words how much I believe in the right for Black women and girls' lives, voices, and experiences to matter. I hope that with this site, we can come together more potent as a community and fully know our value, worth, and purpose in our society and feel like we can stand tall through it all.
